Performance Comparison

Power and performance are what Fords are known for, and that's no different with the 2022 F-150. Under its hood is a bigger 3.3L V6 engine mated to an electronic 10-speed automatic transmission. Power output is 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. To make it fuel-efficient, it features Auto Start-Stop Engine technology and SelectShift® Automatic Transmission with Progressive Range Select.

The Colorado comes with a much smaller engine, a 2.5L four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. It only puts out 200 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. The underpowered Colorado will have limited towing and hauling capability, plus its lesser number of gears won't exactly help in reducing fuel consumption.

Making driving easier and increasing the performance of the F-150 are selectable drive modes. Choose between Normal, Eco, Sport, Tow/Haul, Slippery, and Trail on 4x2 models. Additional modes in 4x4 models are Deep Snow/Sand and Mud/Rut.

Safety Features Comparison

The 2022 Ford F-150 rocks a variety of safety features to keep the driver and passengers safe. On top of seven air bags - front air bags for driver and passenger, seat-mounted side airbags for driver and passengers, and Ford's Safety Canopy® Side Curtains - it also comes with four-wheel anti-lock brakes, a tire pressure monitoring system, a rearview camera with Dynamic Hitch Assist, and AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™.

In the Colorado are six airbags, tire fill alert, a tire pressure monitoring system, and its Stabilitrak electronic traction control system. All others are optional equipment.
