The 2023 Ford Escape has four engine options across its five trim levels.
The S, SE, and SEL models use a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine with front- or all-wheel drive. It makes 181 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. It sends power to the wheels using an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The SEL, Titanium, and the new ST-Line use a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine that makes 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. It also uses an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The plain hybrid and the plug-in hybrid Escape have a 2.5-liter engine that makes 200 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque. Both send power to the wheels using an electronic continuously variable transmission.
